RELAPSE PREVENTION
RELAPSE PREVENTION (RP)
Renewing Waters Relapse Prevention Counseling Track is designed for individuals who desire to live a life of sobriety and may have seen past successes, however, are unable to demonstrate consistency in remaining clean/sober. These individuals are unable to refrain from alcohol/substance use because they either have not established individualized relapse prevention strategies or have deviated from their developed recovery plan, causing them to return to substance use.

Renewing Waters RP Group Counseling Sessions are facilitated by Certified/Licensed Addictions Counselors. Each Counselor is trained in managing multi-dimensional group dynamics and providing the most current education about alcohol/drugs of abuse, recognizing denial patterns, internal and external triggers which leads to relapse, customizing relapse prevention plans with integrated formal and informal supports, and discovering additional tools needed to support and sustain recovery.

Clients will be challenged to recognize attitudes and beliefs which instigates harmful behavioral patterns, recognize internal, external and sensory triggers which leads to relapse, practice healthy emotional management, develop customized relapse prevention plans, and identify formal and informal supports to sustain abstinence.
Renewing Waters RP Counseling Track requires all clients to identify and actively attend 1 support group (AA, NA) each week throughout their program participation.
